The Transcarpathian Regional Foundation “Blago” continues to provide assistance to displaced persons who left their homes due to the full-scale invasion

Maria is a displaced person from Zaporizhzhia who was forced to leave her home due to the full-scale invasion. Together with her family, she moved to Odesa, hoping to find a safe place and a chance to start over.

The relocation was a real challenge. A new city, lack of stable income, and the need to provide for the essentials—all of this created a sense of uncertainty. However, Maria did not give up and tried to find any possible opportunities to adapt and support her family.

Thanks to a project organized by the Zakarpattia Regional Charitable Foundation “Blago,” with technical support from UN Women in Ukraine and funding from the United Nations Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF), Maria received a food package. It included grains and pasta, canned and meat products, dairy products, vegetables and seasonings, beverages and sweets, sunflower oil, sugar, and salt.

“This assistance means more to me than just food. It is a sign that there are people who understand our situation and are ready to support us. It gives me the strength to move forward,” says Maria.

Maria’s story is yet another proof of how important it is to support those who have been forced to leave their homes. Every act of assistance is not only material support but also a reassurance that together, we are stronger.

The project is being implemented by the Zakarpattia Regional Charitable Foundation “Blago,” with technical support from UN Women in Ukraine and funding from the United Nations Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF).

This flexible and responsive funding mechanism supports high-quality initiatives aimed at strengthening local women’s capacity to prevent conflicts, respond to crises and emergencies, and seize key opportunities for peacebuilding.
