The Transcarpathian Regional Charitable Foundation “Blago” together with UN Women in Ukraine and the UN Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) provides humanitarian assistance to Roma communities.

Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine has brought many challenges to Roma communities. Roma women and girls often face discrimination and difficulties in accessing humanitarian assistance and social services.

The Transcarpathian Regional Charitable Foundation “Blago” together with UN Women in Ukraine and the UN Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) provides humanitarian assistance to Roma communities. The organization provides humanitarian food and hygiene kits, firewood for heating homes. In addition, the team implements trainings for Roma women and girls, provides psychological counseling to ensure equal access to educational services.

Since August 2024, as part of a joint project with UN Women Ukraine and WPHF:

  • Over 1,300 Roma women and girls, as well as IDP women, have received humanitarian assistance;
  • Over 1,300 food and hygiene kits have been prepared and distributed to women and girls;
  • About 450 Roma women and girls have attended educational trainings.

Through joint efforts, we help Roma women and girls overcome the challenges of war and create opportunities for their integration into communities.
