This manual is designed for Ukrainian and Roma women’s civil society organizations that seek to expand educational opportunities for women and girls of Roma origin in their communities. It will be useful for those who want to help women gain new knowledge, skills and resources for personal development, career growth and active participation in society.
The manual is based on the practical experience of a pilot educational program developed by ZOBF Blago in cooperation with 3 Roma and 6 Ukrainian women’s CSOs. This program was implemented in five communities – Odesa, Uzhhorod, Berehove and Seredne, Zakarpattia region, as well as Zolotonosha, Cherkasy region – and adapted to the needs of the participants, taking into account their real challenges. This manual contains recommendations on how to develop and adapt educational programs for women and girls of the Roma community, ensuring their equal access to knowledge and development. We hope that it will help community initiatives create inclusive and effective educational opportunities that will contribute to strengthening the role of Roma women in society.
For trainers: use the manual as a methodological material for preparing and conducting classes.
For civil society organizations: adapt the proposed modules and exercises to the needs of your communities.
For activists: use the manual as a source of information for advocacy work and women’s empowerment in Roma communities.
This manual is not a static document – it can be adapted to your needs and expanded with new cases, experiences and methodologies.
We call on everyone working in this field to share their experiences and feedback, so that together we can make education more accessible and inclusive.
